1. Research expenses (including payroll, equipment, supplies, consultants, etc.)
2. Educational activities
3. Grant application and administration
4. General management
5. Compensating sponsoring university including overhead
6. Funding the endowment
7. Managing the endowment

The Institute will compensate a sponsoring university for its support, to limit administrative and local teaching obligations, allowing more time for research.

Over time, the Institute intends to build an endowment fund which is 20 times the Institute’s annual budget.  The Board will determine what portion of donated funds will be used to fund the Institute’s endowment fund.
