Ilia J Elenkov, MD, PhD

Dr. Elenkov, a physician-scientist with over 25 years of experience in neuroendocrine-immunology and stress-immune interactions, is an established expert in this vast inter-disciplinary field. His work in this area is highly cited, with over 9,000 citations in medical articles, and three of his publications, with more than 500 citations, are ‘citation classics’. Dr. Elenkov is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society for NeuroImmunoModulation (ISNIM), and a member of the Editorial Board of the ISNIM’s NeuroImmunoModulation journal.

Dr. Elenkov is director and founder of Brain Immune Media Ltd, UK, an online publishing social enterprise dedicated to disseminate medical research knowledge at the interface of neurosciences and immunology. He is the Editor of BrainImmune.com, an online reference source providing information, experts’ opinions and the latest conceptual frameworks in neuroendocrine-immunology.

Dr. Elenkov has authored more than 50 scientific publications, including 10 book chapters, and was involved in the 4th and 5th edition of Endocrinology, edited by LJ DeGroot & JL Jameson, a leading US educational reference in endocrinology. He was an invited speaker at several international scientific conferences in the UK, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Japan and the US.
